Legendary Hungry Wolf[edit | edit source]

Terry and Andy were orphans adopted by Jeff Bogard. During a training session, Terry saw his father's master, Tung Fu Rue, reject Geese Howard as his disciple since he didn't sense good in his intentions. Out of jealousy, Goose murders Jeff Bogard. Enraged, Terry and Andy make an oath: to train until they are strong enough to defeat their father's killer; Andy returns to japan to train in japanese combat styles, while Terry stays in South Town (and rarely travels abroad) to hone the styles learned from his father, from his mentor, and streetfighting skills. 10 years later, Goose Howard, who made connections to worldwide mafia and crime, built a tower called the Geese Tower and hosted a tournament called The King of Fighters Tournament. At this time, Terry reunited with his brother, plus a friend he brought from japan whom informed them of the tournament in the first place, Joe Higashi, to all challenge the tournament.

Terry makes it to the end and challenges Geese Howard; they fight and Terry ultimately wins by throwing Geese from the tower, and that would be the end of Howard.

One year later, Wolfgang Krauser von Stroheim, Geese's half-brother, hosts a King of Fighters Tournament himself, and injures several of the finalists of the previous tournament as a mock to Geese's strength. Once again, Terry and friends decide to participate, and again, Terry reaches to the end and defeats Wolfgang Krauser, gaining his title of hero, afterwards Wolfgang disappears.

A year later, it turns out Geese survived their fight thanks to the mystical power of the "Phoenix Scroll", and organizes one final King of Fighters Tournament to settle with the brothers. However, this time Howard's plan was to acquire the rest of the "Jin Scrolls" to become the strongest, but the Bogards defeated him before he could, and during the tournament Terry again defeats him in the new Geese Tower, but this time Terry grabs Geese's hands and offers him forgiveness. Geese, however, accepts no compassion and pushes Terry's hand away, falling to his certain death without the scroll as he laughs maniacally.

A few years later, Terry is attacked by a boy by the name Rock Howard, who is Geese's son. Terry takes him as his disciple until 10 years later, a man named Kain R. Heinlen takes over Second South City and decides that people only value life when at the edge, and wants to create a city of total violence and chaos, he creates the King of Fighters: Maximum Mayhem as a way to prove his strength, and secretly to call Rock Howard to him. In the end, Rock defeats him, but Kain assures him that there's vital information about his mother that Geese left secret; discovering this, Rock joins Kain and leaves Terry with a promise that he would return, and Terry returns to the life of the lone wolf.
