Richter is an antagonist in Hotline Miami and a playable character in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number.

The Ratface[edit | edit source]

A fatalist hitman who remains blind to the events at play and those using him, he is fast to resign himself to his situation, and although may do anything to survive if panic-struck, rather rarely does he ever fight against the current in situations he views as hopeless.

The Darkweb Rumble[edit | edit source]

One of The Son's henchmen.

Episode 5

Puts pressure on a local drug-making group with his boss.

TFR/Season 7[edit | edit source]

Works diligently while his boss partners with a new group.

Episode 4

After The Son deals with the "unsound" management of Mafia City and becomes The Father, he brings his other boys into the group.

Episode 7

Goes to the mafia families showdown.

Episode 8

Fights to qualify the mafia for the tournament.

TFR/Off-Season 8[edit | edit source]

Still works for the mafia, resigned to his current living.

Episode 53

Participates in the Contendership Clash Tournament.

The Extinct Light[edit | edit source]

As he continues to work for the ever-growing Mafia City, he also stays in the unchanging and decaying The Final Rumble.

Episode 3

"The Rat" Richter participates in the Berserk Brawl tournament in Pool G.

"The Sadistic Thug" V continues congratulating himself for his last work against that cop, although his neck might need a couple intakes of doses, so Doc better be working twice as hard this week, and the same goes to the little shit in front of him. "The Rat" Richter rather wants to go home after his match, but V doesn't really give a shit if he should ask the boss or do whatever, and Richter calmly accepts it. Comparatively, AEW seems to have it easy and Richter wonders if he should apply for some background role, but with V telling him he should clean their toilets, Richter gets that there's no choice other than wrestling...

But it was hopeless...

Episode 5

V really gives it the Rat for not even getting out of first round, and putting such a pathetic performance instead of trying to kill each other, he should fucking rewatch V's tape on that cop and learn a few things. While Richter worries about his mom first, V reminds him nobody cares about that old bitch and tells her to die for all he cares, especially now that carrying Mafia City is all on him once again without getting any return because the boss is busy throwing praises at their newest branch making so much dough. If Richter isn't even gonna put good matches, he better start making some fucking money by whipping that Doctor or any other way he can imagine.

As for the tournament, V has finally reached the true beginning and is against a real dangerous guy for them, exciting stuff. Could have made big cash making some snuff masterpieces if they teamed up but seems he has no interest in their side, but maybe they can have a nice level-headed conversation after cracking his skull open.

As for Richter...

...My feet hurt.

TFR/Season 8[edit | edit source]

Even though he's part of the most powerful group around, it just doesn't feel right...

Episode 1

Mafia City gathers together to throw a huge party; coke, tidepods, it's got it all, and yet V is annoyed Ratface Richter looks like he'd rather watch some limpdick comedy movie in a cinema with his mom, and some serious fucker Joe can't shake the nasty work they made him do off, so V forces him to shake it off in the dance floor the right way. That is, until The Grandfather called, so V tried to offer him some twintailed girl who he heard liked "experienced" men, but instead he wanted him to check the product before his 8PM bedtime. Pissed off, V drags Richter off the party to visit the Doc and check how production's going, but seeing how the boxes are nearly fuckin empty despite the guy "working 20hs/day", he thinks this "daily dose" ain't cutting it and they'll need an "hourly" dose from now on, so he better get on it before he sees what comes next, and he better not think to run when their connections go all over Coolsville. Piccolo promises to work twice as hard, but V tells him to make it thrice before grabbing the stuff and leaving.

Episode 4

Francis Zach Morgan and Manny Pardo arrive to an underworld hangout bar where the meanest sons of guns (like the Coolsville Cutthroat) always slither to, to chew over their dirty deeds and shadowy transactions, including Mafia City goons. Pardo gets a straight whiskey, and Francis gets a look at the cocktails before taking "The Forbidden Sip".

With their backs turned, V gives them both a cheap shot while announcing they've seem to got a "rat problem" in this place. V tells his guys to give 'em the one-way ticket to the afterlife while he gets to real places to do real business, so Richter, M. Goku, and Cow Tools get up and close in. Just as Francis is thinking about facing them against the odds, he hears someone telling 'Frank' if he's not even gonna say hello, and Charles gets up from his chair and jumps in, shocking the thugs, Richter specially, before they regroup to attack.

Truth is, before Charles even got up, he gave the cops a call, so the assailants flee after losing.

Episode 5

It's been a while since Charles visited that place, the place where he once ruled an empire from. And that's exactly where he knew he would find Richter. Richter has little to say, but Charles knows they are both nostalgic. How many talks did they share in this room? too many to count. Yes, Richter agrees, those were the days... and suddenly, Richter's usual taciturn expression vanishes from his face as he takes a swing at Charles, because those were the days before he ruined everything! He respected such a coward, worthless buffoon too busy trying to woo a woman - one that's already taken, at that - to pay attention, and the moment he stopped focusing on the family... is the moment he lost control, should've known better than to trust that kind of man. Finally Charles gets up from his deserved punch, but says that woman really did capture his heart... he deserved everything that happened to him, but he won't just take it sitting by, because he's here to make things right. And if that's the case... there's only one way for Richter to see if his words have any meaning this time.

As Charles lies defeated, he notices Richter really has grown. Richter... puts down his fists and wonders why did it turn out like this; everyone joined Mafia City because of his boundless charisma and ambition, the top could be reached as long as they followed his direction―unity and respect prevailed. And then he became a worthless simp, everyone agreed with The Son because they were disappointed in the man they idolized. But now it's nothing like they old days, and The Son-The Grandfather doesn't even run things anymore but that worthless thug V, with no regards for the code or his people... Richter is lost. First of all, Charles congratulates them for taking over the city, but if Richter doesn't like the path full of pain and blood they took... then why don't they take it all back? At that moment, a light lights up in Richter's eyes that was missing for too long, Charles might not be fully back since he Richter beat him, but he has a plan: the Conseguenza Consortium manage the finances and the information network that fuels Mafia City, and with the upheaval caused by James Tomitake's death, now is the perfect time to strike at the heart of the beast that holds the city in its claws—time to show them how mafia works!

Episode 6

It's a shame Charles wasn't there when Zach and Pardo met the caporegime, but it's only a minor delay because after all, Richter is still committed to be their agent on the inside. It's never easy playing the double agent, but with this many people on the inside, York believes this should make things easier, and Richter leaves to his duty.

Episode 7

Zach receives an urgent call from Charles: Mafia City got Richter. He's in one of their warehouse, one Charles himself had bought, obviously expecting them to come. Zach and Pardo won't leave him alone, so they decide to rendezvous in there as it'll probably be their biggest challenge yet.
