10 Years in the Joint Made You a Fucking Pussy[edit | edit source]

Kiryu Kazuma's most loyal and supportive friend and a respected member of the Tojo Clan, until he took a dark turn...

Akira and his sister Yuko grew up in Kazama's Sunflower Orphanage along with Kiryu Kazuma and Sawamura Yumi. Eventually, Nishiki joined the Dojima Family along with Kiryu, despite excessive protests and even a beating from Kazama. Contrary to Kiryu's "to help Boss Kazama and carry on his will", Nishiki felt indebted to the Yakuza for paying for his sister's medical bills.

In 1988, Kiryu leaves the Dojima family to protect Kazama, and joins Tachibana Tetsu in his plan. The Dojima Family demand he turn over Tachibana, and begin a manhunt which Nishiki is forced to participate in. However, he saves Kiryu by getting him into his car, and driving to the forest, with intent to kill Kiryu to save him from the Dojima's torture. Nishikiyama bursts into tears, unable to kill Kiryu, telling him he is nothing without him. Kiryu takes Nishikiyama's car and goes back to Kamurocho to finish what he started. As he drives off, Nishikiyama looks up towards the sky and yells with rage and misery.

In October 1995, Nishiki hopes to one day be able to start his own family, much like Kiryu is soon on his way to do. After Kiryu finished his final job for the time, he, Nishiki and Yumi start drinking together. On her way out, Yumi is kidnapped by Dojima Sohei for being Kazama's adoptive daughter and taken to the Dojima Family office, Nishiki chasing after. Upon seeing Dojima trying to rape Yumi, Nishikiyama shot him in cold blood. Kiryu is alerted by Tanaka Shinji and arrives at the office. Kiryu volunteers to bear his punishment, so that Nishiki could spend time with his sister. Nishikiyama reluctantly agrees and escorts Yumi, traumatized by the attempted rape, out of the room.

While being around the aftermath, Dojima Family members chatter, one claiming that the situation of what to do with Kiryu wouldn't be as complicated if Nishikiyama was the one to pull the trigger seeing as he is not Kazama's "favorite", and they all agree on that notion for him being useless. These would end becoming members of Nishiki's own family. A year later, a doctor convinces Nishikiyama he can get his sister the organ she desperately needs for ¥30mil, and, desperate, asks one of his veteran subordinates, Matsushige, for the money, whatever it takes; Matsushige steals the money from Kashiwagi Osamu's territory, Kazama's right-hand man. For betraying all Kazama did for him, Kashiwagi beats Nishiki in his office despite forgiving him, and comments this wouldn't happen if Kiryu were around.

Nishikiyama leaves the office only to run into Shimano Futoshi, who tells him Kazama only cares about Kiryu having his family, and even though Kiryu "killed" his patriarch, that has only strengthened his reputation, one that neither he nor Nishikiyama can reach. When he finally pays for his sister's healing, soon after he learns that the money was employed in paying the doctor's gambling debts, and he has already fled the country. Broken and depressed at the fact that all his efforts were in vain and that his sister will die, he cries in front of the hospital.

Nishikiyama sits in his office in front of Yuko's headstone about to commit suicide with his knife. Before he can do it, Matsushige walks in, belittling his boss once more. Having enough, Nishikiyama stabs Matsushige and reveals he was the one who killed Dojima. Nishikiyama slicks his hair back with Matsushige's blood as he swears to kill as many people as needed to reach the top, decided to sacrifice everything to change the fates.

When Kiryu is released from jail, he finds that Nishikiyama has not only started his own subsidiary group, but he has changed into a cold, heartless man completely unlike his former self. Nishikiyama asks Kiryu to help him win the war that'll break out soon within the Tojo by handing over the ten billion yen and Sawamura Haruka. Kiryu refuses and criticizes him for the man he has become.

At the top of the Millennium Tower, Nishikiyama reveals that he knew Kyohei Jingu was trying to use and bribe him. Wanting to surpass Kiryu, he has made sacrifices and numerous betrayals in order to claim the 10 billion yen so that he may become the Tojo Clan's fourth chairman. With that realization, he will claim Yumi for himself. Kiryu then tells Nishikiyama that he and Yumi are both irreplaceable, but they both must settle this feud once and for all. Nishikiyama accepts this final showdown with his former best friend Kiryu, both removing their shirts to display their tattoos on their backs - the Dragon and the Koi. They fight to the bitter end and are evenly matched, but Kiryu eventually wins. Yumi appears and wants to blow up the money to put an end to the strife it is causing, but Jingu suddenly arrives, shoots Kiryu in the leg and fatally shoots Yumi, looking to steal the money for himself. Before Jingu can finish Kiryu off, Nishikiyama wakes up to find Jingu holding Kiryu at gunpoint. He then finally realizes that Kiryu and Yumi too are irreplaceable to him, and decides as a final act to not to let Jingu have his way by charging into him, shoving the both of them into the vault. Jingu shoots him in response, but this doesn't bring Nishikiyama down. To take responsibility for his actions, Nishikiyama then points his gun at the bomb in the vault. Kiryu screams at him, but as a final farewell, he pulls the trigger, blowing up himself and Jingu, and sending the 10 billion yen flying into the streets of Kamurocho.

While Yumi died moments later from her wound, his actions saved Kiryu and Haruka. After his death, it is clarified within the yakuza that Nishikiyama was the true killer of Sohei Dojima.
