メタ世界 is a location/concept from Umineko no Naku Koro ni.
Description[edit | edit source]
The Meta-World is a plane outside of the physical reality, a place where Witches and Sorcerers can chose to reside. Those who are designated Game Master can use this world's latent but unused energy to create the game: a game is used to recreate an event and let it play out, however were a logic error to occur, the game would instantly end, so Game Masters must be very careful. A game is used to benefice the observances of the Game Master, while a opposite observer may try to find fault in these occurrences. It is of note that other entities may freely travel to this place if possessed of sufficient ability to do so or summoned, and can interact freely between games, but had a game already been set generally only those engaged in it or serving one of the participants will appear in the drawing room proper.
Sub-locations[edit | edit source]
- The Purgatorio Room
- The Witch's Smoking Room (a normal room where games are arranged)
History[edit | edit source]
The Meta-World was widely used during the Rokkenjima Incident to reproduce the events from October 4th to October 5th of 1986, where the Rokkenjima Massacre occurred. During these events, the Meta-World looked no different than the real Rokkenjima, save for a few locations existing outside games.
All 18 missing wrestlers are transported to an identical version of Rokkenjima materialized within the Meta-World and remain trapped as none have witch-like abilities to escape or is there a game to undo.
