Kiryu wanting nothing to do with him, the man says that Kasai's biggest enemies are surveying the area, intrigued Kiryu asks who, to whom the man responds with the group known as Evolution, four of Kasai's biggest enemies who seek to put an end to the Sonozaki Family. The stranger remind Kiryu of what he owes to Kasai, and despite Kiryu never being able to forget, he still says that they parted a long time ago, and he's capable of fighting for himself. When the man begins to speak of their unclean methods, a lone bullet nearly avoids the two, and the man runs off into hiding.

With his surprise factor blown, Kiryu confronts the shooter, who turns out to be a powerful martial artist: The Dragon of Switzerland, Japan Cesaro. It was an intense struggle, but Kiryu managed to defeat him.

Episode 3[edit | edit source]

After being pushed quite far in the last match, Kiryu realizes he's not in his best form. With the masked man disappearing, he's already too deep to back out, and calls Date to inform him of "Evolution" and how strong they must be to be able to hire Cesaro, Evolution... is a mystery, but he wants to learn more about it, and tells Date to call later.

Substory #87 - Getting a Clue

Kiryu notices a lonely man struggling, and asks if he's alright; he's a detective, and one day thought about the risk of his work and if he could really defend his family; after some horrible images flowed into his head, he instantly decided to get stronger, but his regime isn't looking well at all. Kiryu offers to spar with him so he could gain a thing or two, and the man accepts.

After the fight, that man not only was pushed beyond his limits, but beyond any limits he thought he ever had, gaining his clue. He thanks Kiryu and asks him his name, and is responded with Susuki Taichi. He initially compares him to the legendary dragon he heard so about, but realizes he must've been mistaken and gives his name in kind, Narihisago Akihito. Kiryu wishes him well on defending his family, as he has to do the same, and the man parts way with "See you some other time, Kiryu."

Behind the scenes, Evolutions plan for meeting the dragon...

Episode 4[edit | edit source]

Somehow, Kiryu is once again drawn to this damn city...

Arriving at Coolsville, Date had told him to meet at the Survive Bar, but instead he is greeted by Suou Katsuya since Date has been busy investigating some underground group. Despite how big Evolution seems to be, it remains a mystery, they operate in the shadows and seek some sort of "change"; however, Kiryu's actions have caught their eyes, and are searching for him in places like the club pertaining to one of Kiryu's friends. With a chance Evolution's Ryback family might attack at any moment, Katsuya decides to patrol the area nearby, but Kiryu says that since they're looking for him, then it's his duty to show up, which makes Katsuya admire his sense of justice.

After leaving and arriving at the Eden of Coolsville and meeting with it's manager and close friend Vergil, the goons of Ryback arrive, with Kiryu and Vergil take most of them out. The boss himself arrives, and Kiryu asks Vergil to take everyone out, since he will fight alone, and Vergil obliges.

Kiryu faces the patriarch, Ryback, in a single combat that has both men giving his all, but even despite being tired from the earlier fights, Kiryu manages to persevere and defeat Ryback. Being too much for the big guy to handle, he was reminded of the book that changed his life, The Secret, and Ryback decided to turn his life around and begged Kiryu to let him join his ranks. Kiryu accepts if he truly repents, and Ryback and his subordinates begin to clean the place...

Episode 5[edit | edit source]

While walking through the city after Evolution's goons stopped attacking him, Kiryu thinks back on what to do next, reminded that he must not let a single one escape and hurt his family, and the memories of his past at Sunflower Orphanage came flowing back as he could not stop from reminiscing all of his friends.

He could remember a big kid and his brother Eric, the strongest kid, a catlover girl and her friend, the studious Nick and his hardworking brother; it really was his home, and most importantly, Kasai's lessons that would end up shaping him, most important of all "The way of the virgin".

All in life, Kiryu owes to Kasai, but to save his family he needs to know what the enemy is after, and only one man can give him that...

A desolate place for a desolate man: NXT. The Dragon finally arrives back at this old place, but a strange group stands at the entrance, and Kiryu wonders what they're doing around here. The stoic man throws it right back at him, since no one should be at NXT, the drunk-like man proclaims he could only be related to the ones who took "Ada". Kiryu tries to solve the situation peacefully since he's merely visiting a friend, but Fred puts fists together in preparation. He explains he comes for info and only mistook them for Evolution guys, but the visitors won't fall for any traps, and so they will let their fists do the talking.

Kiryu's Karaoke Time

Despite a grueling fight where Leon acted drunk out of his ass and Fred pinned Kiryu, somehow, he still managed to win and pinned them both in such an incredible way that left them confused long after it was over. Having taught them a thing or two, the man he came to see showed himself up; celebrating another amazing display, The Cagist is naturally already informed of Kiryu's intention. Unlike other dirtsheets around that say things like "P-P-Plans change", Cagist's information is as flawless as his booking. He invites all three of them to talk, but especially wants A+ player Kiryu to be his main event. Wanting to relax, Kiryu walks into the Karaoke backstage before negotiation time...

Episode 6

Near the end of the night, The Cagist approaches Kiryu with his request, that being him participating in the main event naturally as he's an A+ player. Cagist even wishes he would request info more often, since >NXT >audience goes crazy every time they see him. Sadly, Kiryu is already busy enough and the legendary dragon never gets a break. As for his opponent, he'll find out in the ring it's a fierce rival of his.

In the ring, he finds none other than Hayashi Hiroshi, who laughs at him for expecting an easy time, but Kiryu returns to him that he expected something tougher. Hayashi smirks at his remark, but states he's more dangerous than he might think. After cutting ties with the Omi and their encounter in Sotenbori, he was left wandering, wandering until he realized he couldn't afford to walk the streets while Kiryu also did the same with his life, and so he came to take that from him and nothing else. Kiryu senses that Hayashi is not only just a shady guy anymore, but his aura has grown worse than before, he might have even become... Evil Itself.

Maybe I have. But you've always been one to think you could defeat anything in your path, haven't you?

It's time for me to prove that wrong.

I'll kill you, arrogant moth er fu cker!

Episode 7

Showing that evil will never prevail, Cagist finally agrees to give Kiryu information about Evolution: The next one to go after him will be The Masterpiece Chris Masters with his feared Masterlock finishing move, the second most painful lock Cagist has ever experienced, the first being Steph's. However, Masters is narcissistic enough to come without reinforcements, and in fact, he's already waiting on NXT's ring!

After another hard fought match, but probably not as hard as Evil Itself, Masters realizes what a true masterpiece truly is, and his one request before revealing information about Evolution is for Kiryu to accept him as a disciple; who accepts if he's willing to redeem himself. Masters' information comes hitting like a brick to Kiryu: something no one else would dare to reveal, the owner of NXT, The Game, is a founding member of Evolution. Kiryu is taken aback as Masters leaves, wondering how could he be part of something that stands against his trusted friends Kasai and Steven, or maybe... Evolution changed? Or something made The Cagist himself change?

Kiryu then remembers about the fight that changed his life... the day Steven changed him...

A legendary match...

Episode 8[edit | edit source]

The Cagist was already expecting Kiryu, but some information just can't be spread and tells Kiryu to turn around and leave, for what is best for him. But Kiryu knows that Cagist isn't like that and asks him who's getting to his head.

But that doesn't matter anymore, because Cagist feels like it's 11:59PM on Locktober 31st, and not even Steph can stop him now. Kiryu tries to make him remember what Steven did for him... for both of them, why betray him and found Evolution? But if Kiryu wants to know, he already knows the price: this'll be his send-off from NXT, and Triple H will make sure to savor every last dime.

After putting such a classic together, Flair would be proud, and who else to put it with than another man who was taught much by Steven. Even thought he might not have raised him, he changed his life by saving him from Shimano Futoshi, and that's exactly why Cagist could never betray him. Evolution with him was created with a different purpose, they were rebels, what Evolution turned into... is a mystery to Cagist. As for Kiryu, Steven changed his life when he got him the starring role in Hideo Kojima's "Dragon", and that's how the legend of "The Dragon of Kojima" was born. But such fame made his life take a turn, and he had to avoid people to not get them hurt, but at least Kiryu is glad Cagist will always stay by his side, much like Steven when he saved Cagist's life from Shimano. Kiryu has only heard legends of how Steven heroically stalled him and allowed Cagist to escape.

Cagist thanks Kiryu for the match and reminding him what really matters, and Kiryu reminds him that they can never forget those they're fighting for. Or the reasons why they keep walking this path... This is what life is for them.

Before Cagist can finally announce he's free from the cage, Steph bitches at him that one dime isn't gonna keep the show running and they need more dimes. Cagist tries to debut a new signing, Mid Show, but Steph calls him low midcard at BEST, and sends Haitch back to the cage for No Nut November.

Unbeknownst to Kiryu, Evolution had already prepared their next warrior....

Episode 9

Kiryu thanks Cagist for being a true friend and he likewise thanks him for raising NXT to it's highest interest in decades and getting him closer to selling off his tarps, as Kiryu reminds him that life is about dreaming for the impossible; however, Steph stops him from dreaming too much since he's still got the rest of NNN left as well as DDD.

Kiryu is comforted by the fact that much like him, the day HHH changes as a man will never come, and bids his goodbye. On his way, Kiryu thinks about what strategy to take, and thinks that taking an evasive stance for Jindrak's Mark of Excellence would leave it not-so-excellent. Before he can consider it, Sheamus arrives trying to take him off-guard with his Brogue Kick, but Kiryu is never off-guard.

Sheamus proves to be a difficult opponent, not only having some strengths of Kiryu's previous Evolution enemies without their weakness, but his sneaky and deceptive ways coupled with his cleverness make a tough opponent for Kiryu. After Kiryu's attacks fail time and time again to Sheamus' deceivings, he figures that to win against such an opponent he has to outsmart him, and so to win Kiryu tricks him by doing a surprise pin off a frankensteiner, catching him off-guard in a reversing of his tactics.

Kiryu commends him for his intense enjoyment he derived from the fight, which comes naturally from his Irishman spirit. Sheamus decides to make way to a pub with the dragon so he can teach him a few things, but Kiryu declines and asks him for Jindrak: as Sheamus tells he's stronger than the rest of Evolution put together, and he's horrifyingly focused on beating Kiryu, but Sheamus offers to show Kiryu the way, if he has the gall. Just then, Kiryu gets a call from Date; Steven was at a hostess club and through an accident ended up bedridden, and now rests at the Sonozaki residence. Kiryu instantly turns down Sheamus' offer, even if it means Jindrak will be even stronger, for the sake of checking on his family, and Sheamus says will tell him what he knows at some other point on his way to the pub.

Episode 10

On the Sonozaki Residence, Kiryu finds out Steven is very sick, and he almost can't believe a man who could survive helicopter machine-gun fire would, somehow, fall ill. Kiryu and Kasai talk about recent events and Kasai mentions the Shimano family being on the move, likely because of Steven's condition, and that this might be the Sonozaki's greatest conflict yet. But somehow, that's not what's bothering Kasai, because something more terrifying than even that has surfaced; the thing that was found near the are where Steven lost consciousness was... a Keyboard.

Episode 11[edit | edit source]

For his enemies to put all organized crime at risk with the use of such weapons, Kiryu is astounded.

After crawling from swamp at the back of the Sonozaki Residence, the leader of the Avatars of Allah and an old rival of the Sonozaki Family, Osama bin Laden, appears behind Kiryu, who's surprised to see him after all this time alive. Osama comes with the intentions to reveal the truth however, for the sake of the two followers of Allah he met in prison that taught him so much, and reveals what he was looking for in prison in the first place.

The bank records situate the moving of huge amounts of money:

Sender Receiver
Rob Wellington Sudou Tatsuzou
Sudou Tatsuzou Coolsville State Police

The documents bring Kiryu back to the Keyboards Incident, where Cawdy betrayed them, Sudou Tatsuzou used everyone to further his goals, and his brother Kariya sacrificed his life to take out Sudou with the explosives at the top of the Millennium Tower. The documents reveal that everything was funded by "Rob Wellington".

Osama wants to correct his actions from being on Sudou's payroll back then, and this time stop their plan from coming to fruition. Their contact in the Coolsville Police Department is amassing keyboards at the docks, so Kiryu decides to go with Osama to stop them. At the docks, while Osama opens the door, Warden Osborne after surviving the explosion followed Osama to take revenge and return him to prison, but Kiryu tries to stop him.

While Osborne has the advantage, Kiryu strikes a good hit while he thinks he won and takes him out. Osama is done with the door and Kiryu turns around to go inside, but Osborne was pretending to be more hurt than he is and tries to deliver a terrible headbutt to Kiryu–but Osama takes the hit over his previous wounds and is severely injured. Osama encourages Kiryu to keep going before his reinforcements arrive, and make his mission to stop the keyboards before they end the thing most important: their legacy.

"Mafias, The Yakuza, Gangs, Terrorist groups... All organized crime, people like us, they'll all be gone.
You must preserve... The only proof that men like us were here... The gamepads...
" ― Osama bin Laden

Kiryu leaves to put an end to this nightmare, and Osama collapses...

Episode 12

Entering the cold, freezing warehouse, Kiryu is met with it's current owner, Policeman Ooishi, who tries to get Kiryu to turn back since he doesn't know what kind of operation he's stepping into, but Kiryu won't let his evil schemes to end the yakuza come to pass. Before he's taken to an even colder car, Ooishi's partner Suou arrives having discovered that Ooishi is on something shady, but Ooishi wasn't alone as mercenary Tony Redgrave had been hired beforehand to deal with a "Dragon".

With the odds against Kiryu, suddenly his friend Vergil arrives, meeting his brother for the fist time since he began managing Chuck's, but this time he'll make sure things go a different way, and allows Kiryu to push forward to end this long-winded tragedy. The two demonic brothers face each other once more (about as many times as Raiden has faced Armstrong), and Vergil comes on top once again. While his club has kept him busy, he still has the touch, unlike Redgrave who lost sight of Kiryu, but he's not nearly old enough to be done yet, and the two engage once more.

Katsuya meanwhile tries to question Ooishi, who instead just reminds the old cop of his previous partner, Suou's father. Ooishi's partner had been arrested for having illegal material, a Porno Mag, which got him on contraband charges, but Katsuya never believed he would do something like that... and it was true because the mag was Ooishi's! Both men fight, but neither really wants to, and Katsuya begs the person he looked to for so long to tell him why he did such a thing; the truth was... he didn't have a choice if he wanted to keep his pension, and to this day he continues to do such unlawful actions to protect it. Katsuya understand such a grave moral dilemma and still considers Ooishi family, and he in turn realizes he's learned more from young partner than the other way around, and realizes what's right and begins to tell his story–BANG–Ooishi falls to the floor from an unseen gunner and Katsuya calls for support...

Kiryu almost reaches the room with the documents that will reveal the truth, when he is ambushed by the most feared keyboard-wielding assassin of powerful and old yakuza: Zoomer. Kiryu manages to knock him out with a rush kick, and stands a step before the knowledge of the one that caused all this, that took the life of Kariya, and after that he'll only have Evolution left. Zoomer receives a call from "Boss" and Kiryu decides to answer and know who was the one who would be powerful enough to hire a legendary assassin such as him... and to his horror, it was... a badass voice.

Episode 13[edit | edit source]

Shimano and Steven meet in person for the first time in ages. Since Steven is a kind man with all kinds of people (and he even was in an all-black band before drummer Dwight got arrested) he's willing to listen to his peace propositions. Shimano tries to intimidate with his political power for him to leave with the Sonozaki Family at the end of the week, but with the Aikido that guides his body and soul, Steven doesn't fear any kind of Shimano's powers. Seeing his kindness rejected, Shimano calls his goons, and in turn Steven gives the signal to enter to several cops (and Date) from Coolsville Police Department lead by BSAA Captain Chris Redfield, which surprises Shimano but quickly brushes it off as more of his troops are on the way along with the now fully bent to his will Yeagerists.

As BSAA, Chris tries to pin bioterrorism charges on him for taking the top-secret object his team has been searching, which amuses him as he didn't even know what it was. He had given it to Hazz to guarantee his place as his right-hand shortly before his death, and still holds the key to the safe. Chris calls him nothing but a filthy betrayer who has accomplished nothing, and the comrades he has caused to lose give him power to defeat even God; but Shimano calls him incompetent if he lost so many people he would have to take on Shimano, as only a man with nothing left to lose would do something that stupid. But Chris has enough talk of his stupid ideals, and they take their shirts off to make punches do the talking.

On the other end of the room, Steven considers bringing the tanks with his secret weapon to put an end to this once and for all, but to his surprise, Kiryu appears with the knowledge that he's became the one managing the keyboards operation. Backed into a corner, Steven discloses what was revealed to him with the wise of age: The time for their kind of men is past and gone, and his actions have caused many lives and dreams to be lost, and the only way to atone for the actions of his young self is to end the Yakuza as a whole. But by bringing Keyboards into the question, he has gone too far, he has lost sight of what he was and fought for, and Kiryu must stop him for everyone's sake.

Even using his most deadly Aikido techniques, Kiryu survives what no human could before when facing Steven, and so he reveals the incredible, forbidden truth: he's an undercover cop, a reserve deputy sheriff in Coolsville (also not japanese), and how the Police allied with him and he was able to put his hands on CPD's property to manage the keyboards; he had to keep this secret so he could continue to fight the Shimano Family. As Steven sees it, the time for yakuza is over, keyboard production is on the rise, and they have become too weak, their only option now to cease to exist. But Kiryu reminds Steven what being a man is about, to keep struggling in spite of weakness, and Steven finally realizes how conceited age has made him. More of Shimano's goons and yeagerists arrive, and Steven asks Kiryu to accept his old foolish self in combat once more.

Chris, Kiryu and Steven are backed into a corner by the sheer numbers of the Shimano family, until Kasai arrives with two truckloads of reinforcements after being delayed defending the Sonozaki State with Leo. Kasai and Steven mow down the enemy forces, while Kiryu and Chris deliver a deadly double punch to Shimano, Chris loses it for a moment, but Kiryu reminds him no matter how many of his friends Shimano has killed, as a main character he can't afford to stoop to his level, and Chris just takes the key as him and Kiryu turn around for the police to take care of him. Suddenly, Shimano draws out a hidden Keyboard and throws it at Kiryu, but Steven blocks it, and Shimano intends to throw one at Chris, before suddenly being shot in the head by an unknown assailant, which Chris chalks up to a stray bullet.

The now dying Steven tells Kiryu he's the only true heir to Aikido, putting an end to the yakuza was his only choice since he was indebted to him, and more importantly, he hopes Kiryu can forgive him since of the parents of all the children at the orphanage... he snatched their punani. Steven passes away as he wishes Kiryu to continue to protect the Sonozaki Family, and the three former members of Evolution arrive to inform that the entire Evolution Alliance is on the move... Kiryu and Chris realize now where to end this:

Coolsville Hills... So that's where I need to go.

Episode 14[edit | edit source]

Kiryu finally arrives at Evolution's gathering point, Coolsville Hills, where everything will end. He takes the elevator to the top floor, taking mooks out of the way, where he's challenged by Majima (after recently leaving prison with his bro) who is in charge of the building's security as his boss' last order. But that's not what matters, instead he just wants to fight Kiryu once again.

After Majima's battle-thirst is sated once again, Kiryu takes the lift to the rooftop meeting a mysterious man and the current leader of Evolution Alliance, Rob Van Dam, who is feeling the moment as being now or never to fulfill their goal. Seeing his cowardly tactics in attacking just after Steven's passing, Kiryu doesn't hesitate to fight him. The second chairman of Evolution falls at last, but Kiryu is surprised by his reaction of confusion after mentioning the Sonozaki Family. RVD comprehends what's going on, just as the mysterious man who Kiryu met in the car repair shop shows up, accompanied by none other than Cesaro. Revealing the man to be Stevie Richards, and challenging his allegiance before being shot. Stevie thanks Kiryu for his job dismantling Evolution, and orders Cesaro to end him, without holding back this time. Kiryu, too, was showing his best, as Cesaro recognizes him as the true dragon that he himself isn't, and falls down. Taking his disguise off, revealing the figure of the man who was once the #1 of the legendary bWo organization to Kiryu. Faced by such a grand challenge, Kiryu remembers the things that keep him going...

Date... Cagist... Haruka... The orphans... Kasai... Steven... Shingo... Narihisago...

...and gains the strength of their memories, reminding Stevie of his friend The Blue Meanie in strength, but not smarts.

Despite the arduous fight where Stevie seemingly managed to win, he's in no condition to hold on anymore, while Kiryu endures on enough to resist the loss and continue on. Now that he's had enough, Stevie reveals he wanted Kiryu against Evolution was because they were a revolutionary group against the current president. Stevie's loyalty goes back to his time with Rob Wellington, a pseudonym that Hazz Maticus used in his wrestling days when they met at Wrestling School. Before he can reveal any more, Stevie is shot, as well as Kiryu, by Hazz Maticus himself. Hazz had staged his own death by requesting his own hit, so that not even Shimano would know, all to hide his past as a vicious wrestler who consumed his opponents lives in a desperate attempt to make his name bigger, as well as many more sins, and went as far as to give his first ring name, Spazz Maticus, to his own son and nurture him into a worthless and maniac bastard worthy of his own past to further deceive both him and the world. And to go even further, he artificially aged himself so no connection could be made, as well as to have an easier time becoming president and becoming strong & smart enough to carry such a complex plan.

Before Hazz Maticus can end Kiryu, The Cagist, Date Kaname and Suou Katsuya arrive in an helicopter, dropping Leon Kennedy and Fred Jones, as Kiryu is taken away in the helicopter. Since discovering of Hazz's plot to nuke China, Leon & Fred alerted Kiryu's friends, but Hazz says nuking china is but a small part of his plan to make the USA the undisputed most powerful nation in the world. However, Hazz recognized Ada as the only thing of worth to come out of China, as she reminded him of his dear sister, and was the one who caused all of their misfortunes by being madly in love with her and keeping her locked up so that KaibaCorp could make a clone of her, but was delayed since their first prototype was absolutely terrible. Leon will stop at nothing until he inflicts Ada's suffering on him tenfold, and Fred will make him pay for the van that Leon crashed... oh and the people that died too.

Hazz's presidential guard of 4 S.W.A.T. Members challenges them, but, they are mowed down by the paranormal patrol, and at last Hazz fights them directly with the S.W.A.T. Captain. Despite all this power, his plan, his gun, and his complex old age, Hazz couldn't stop Leon and Fred from ending his reign and saving China, not only because they had apple juice and a dilapidated van, but comrades by their side; Kiryu Kazuma... Suou Katsuya... Date Kaname... Shoji Shingo... Majima Goro and his brother... Warden Osborne... Officer Joe... Osama bin Laden... Kasai Tatsuyoshi... Van Darkholme... The Cagist... Hanyuu... Extra... Vergil... Dante... HUNK... Zagreus... Ryback, Chris Masters, Sheamus... Narihisago Akihito... Zoomer... Tomitake Jirou... Hassan and Kojima... Chuck... and Gregory Edgeworth... all irreplaceable people whose bonds have carried them to defeat him.

The shock from his defeat and seeing all that he lacked gets to him and Hazz's old body can't take it anymore, as he curses the people of this city and its country. But as he stands at the verge of death, Hazz laughs, for his plan is still not over: his second term is already over, but his faked death, on the other hand, would continue to live by pushing a successor right into the presidency. Leon and Fred recall his crazed son hating his father and vice verse, and fail to understand why Hazz continues to laugh as he collapses and keeps repeating "My Son"...

After everything is concluded, Kiryu decided to return to driving taxis, and says his goodbyes to Vergil and Date. On the Coolsville Touge, where he left his car and it all began, he meets the last person he expected... Mark Jindrak. He blames Kiryu for losing everything and would rather hang than return to the indies, but Kiryu wants him to see that now that Hazz is gone, he can start anew and anything is possible, even making it back up to the top card. Kiryu offers to help him... but Jindrak staps a dagger into him; Kiryu never knew what he had suffered, like having Lance Cade by his side, or being erased from every Evolution group photo... until now, because he's gonna erase him himself. Vergil enters and SCHUMs Jindrak with his katana, as Date grabs Kiryu and begs him to live so he can bring him his exported porno mags...

As long as you believe... You can still draw... Even when you think it's impossible... That's... What the Cagist told me...

Before Kiryu had left, he visited the Sonozaki residence; since he was Steven's heir, he was the next in line to be patriarch... but he gave that up, and passed the chance to the twins, he's sure they'll make Steven proud, as long as Kasai is there to protect them

Episode Extra

Something made Kiryu have to return to Coolsville against his plans, something from the past...

Fred Jones, Kasuga Ichiban, Phoenix Wright, Chris Redfield, and Leon S. Kennedy (who passed out from drinking)... all of them gathered in the Survive Bar for one single reason. As the rumors grew and got terrifyingly big, they received a call. At last enters Kiryu Kazuma brandishing a note, something that might be even bigger than Hazz's plans:

To: The Dragon and others

This is a challenge to all of you. To the biggest wrestlers around Coolsville. If you're willing to defend the current rotten state of this business, then you shall face us. However, I'm afraid it would be pointless todo so, considering our immense strength. Our new promotion has some of the most talented people to ever step foot in a wrestling ring. We will eagerly await your decision.

- The Amon Clan

These old rivals of The Dragon have returned to take revenge to new heights by creating Amon Elite Wrestling. Though Coolsville might SUCK, they cannot allow them to take over the city, and its up to them to defend TFR's legacy from such a pissant fed. There's only a single place where this war will start and end: Coolsville Hills.

Kiryu's challenger is the next generation of the Amon Clan and the terrible assassin who had almost done him in; Amon Zoom. AEW receives its second victory.

In the end, the war is won and AEW is rejected from establishing itself on Coolsville

The Extinct Light[edit | edit source]

Kiryu continues to wander, being dragged in and out of this damn city every other month.

Episode 1

Kiryu Kazuma enters the Survive Bar, meeting with Date Kaname and Kyle Hyde for the first time in ages, and overhears them talking about AEW. As he mentions, Kiryu knows some people involved in the company but hasn't checked it out yet, and asks Date if things are as well there as people seem to say, with Date agreeing it is save from a few issues arising from the company being so new. With TFR being in such bad shape, Date and Kiryu wonder if it can ever recover from the reveal of the schemes management were plotting, but at least they shut them down. After silently observing the conversation for a while, Kyle is done with his drink, so he gets up and leaves, apologizing for not continuing with the conversation.

Episode 2

As this conversation draws to a close, Date asks Kiryu if he'll accept to join AEW or play the hero again in TFR, both of which he denies as he says TFR will have to stand on their own, but he'll be always watching from the shades though, a comment which Date never thought he'd hear from him. With that door always waiting there (and Majima with his new suit behind it), Date wonders if he'll join sometime for Mahjong instead, and be kind enough to bring some Lucky Tiles... The conversation is over, and Kiryu must now bring medicine to a nearby hobo, much like he's ever done.

While near the bar, he hears strange sounds from the nearby alleyway (in which he coincidentally had just been scammed by some hobo bumping into him), and finds Date collapses with a towering dark figure standing tall over him. Challenging the crazed black armor, it responds with naught but grunts. Cursing himself for being too slow, Kiryu rushes with his fist, but before it connects a dark flash marks the disappearance of the armored berserker... and Date. With no time to lose in this mysterious situations, his instincts tell him to contact The Cagist, but at that moment, an unknown caller reaches to his phone...

Episode 3

Kiryu arrives to his meeting he arranged with Date Mizuki, greeting her quickly despite having been a while since seeing each other due to the importance of this. While Mizuki is ready to punch shit, Kiryu exclaims it's not like anything they've ever seen before, a creature completely devoid of light, he has seen evil itself before but nothing like this; this is darkness itself, a monster for sure, and it took Date away. And that's why he must stop Mizuki from going after it, because Date wouldn't forgive Kiryu or himself if anything happened to her; even Aiba agrees, and for once Mizuki manages to calm her girlboss impulses down... Kiryu figured it was his duty to let her know and gather any useful info from her, and while she hasn't really got anything, Kiryu has a plan to find out where they took Date, as there's no other choice...

Episode 4

Back to the desolate cage of information so soon, Kiryu quickly moves to meet the man in charge. Awaiting in his office is The Annihilator of AEW, The Burier of B+ players, The Conqueror of CUNTs, The Drawer of Dimes, The Emperor of Entertainment, The Favourite of Fans, The God of Gains, The Hunter of Hound-wankers, The Imprisoner of Indies, The Jeopardizer of Jobbers, The Killer of Khans, The Lyncher of Lowborns, The Murderer of Manlets, The Nightmare of Niggers, The Obliterator of Opposition, The Punisher of Pissants, The Queller of Queers, The Raiser of Ratings, The Smiter of Smarks, The Tormentor of Trannies, The Undertaker of UAMFBNs, The Vanquisher of Vanilla midgets, The Woe of WCW, The X-Pac of Xenophobia, The Yauza of Yumminess, The Zapper of Zealots, The Indomitus Rex, The Cagist, The Terror That Rises, The Alpha of Alphas, The Creator, The Destroyer, The Cerebral Asassin, The Lord of Lords, The King of Kings, The Game' Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Kiryu expected Cagist to already know he was coming for Date, but what he wasn't expecting is The Cagist to also wonder if he also came for Big Pussy. A platinum hostess of Chuck's and 'friend' of Date that Kiryu never got to properly converse with; if Cagist is bringing him up in this, then... he must expect the worst to have happened. This is going too far... but there's more, as one of Coolsville's "safe havens" and the city's most dear emblem, has been compromised. Not even Cagist's cameras can capture the black beast, but the midcarders' talk tells that it is still lurking nearby, preying near the tower's alleyways accompanied by someone that looked like Date. For Mizuki's sake, he must put a stop to this... but first, he'll need to pay for the info in The Coliseum's Cage against a dangerous opponents that likes lengthy matches, although with little time to lose, Kiryu hopes to change his mind on that.

Episode 5

Done with his workout, Chris Redfield walks absentmindedly under the city's dusk colors, hoping for a title match soon and thinking of wandering into the arena, when he notices his old friend Kiryu passing by without uttering a word. Hurriedly, Kiryu greets Chris and blurts out that he must get to Coolsville Hills quick to rescue Date. Upon hearing those words, Chris stops on his tracks. To him... Date is like a member of his squad... and he can't leave anyone else behind, whoever did this will have to answer to him. Decided to accompany him at any cost, Chris asks for him to quickly explain the situation to him on the way, while Kiryu is glad that it'll be two of them now, and Shimano would agree it's more than enough, as Chris puts it. Coolsville Hills... that's where they need to be!

Episode 6[edit | edit source]

Having been told by a eerily-trustworthy voice in a call that Date's fate would remain doomed unless they visited the place instructed, Kiryu Kazuma and Chris Redfield arrive to find Suou Tatsuya, Ushiromiya Battler, Agent 47, and Dante assembled around a man in a Suit. Tatsuya can't help but think he's the only one there without a goal, but something in him still believes there must be a reason he was called... maybe even something he's missing too.

Since they are all finally gathered, the Suit begins his explanation: the incidents that led to this situation all tie back to one common denominator, the rampaging monster they call "The Black Knight" that has taken over Coolsville Hills. Knowing of his strength and power to assemble an army, his superior has decided to take action, and assembled this elite squad by gathering everyone in this room. One of the Black Knight's abilities is to take over anything unable to resist his power, including people, so anyone he defeats will become "blacked", much like Date was. However, they have found a way to counter that ability, lying in a package next to all of them are special white clothes.

It sounds like magic to Battler, Tatsuya would have talked to Eikichi if he wanted a band, and 47 wonders if they stole them from his wardrobe, on the other hand it reminds Kiryu of the 80s and makes him want to sing karaoke. The idea amuses Chris who agrees to it after rescuing Date, Battler also hopes to come and 47 has no option but to follow too and make sure Faggler doesn't get too queer in there, plus might as well also demonstrate his Professional mic skills. Tatsuya then does an impression of a jet engine, shocking everyone else in the room, and Chris even comments it might be a better group in terms of vocal chords than wrestlers.

The Suit reminds everyone what's a stake here, and Chris puts his serious face when he realizes he's found himself a squad once again, even getting a bit nostalgic, but once they get equipped their destination is obvious, as the top floor of Coolsville Hills is where the Black Knight resides. It's time to gear up...

Chris: For Date...

Battler: Steve...

Agent 47: Max...

Dante: Prince...

Kiryu: Let's go. We'll bring them all back!

Tatsuya: In the end, it's up to us...

Everyone: To save wrestling.

They reach the distance where Coolsville Hills is already visible. Battler points out getting to the top doesn't look easy (at least for a bottom bitch like faggler says 47), when Dante receives a call from Ooishi needing urgent backup. Ooishi's group headed to a local OMW show hearing it was attacked, but Date was also there and "they" are too strong for them, they can't hold much longer. Dante needs to take a detour and hurry to "The Dark Alleyway of Wrestling" and Kiryu also jumps to go with him to protect Mizuki; Chris also wishes to go, but Dante reminds him that Coolsville Hills is the priority and they can't spare any more of them being distracted. Even if he can't abandon Date, Chris knows he needs to act as a captain, and entrusts Date and everyone else's safety to Dante and Kiryu.

At their arrival to OMW, taking place in an abandoned BCW Arena, Kiryu and Dante find Ooishi, Mizuki and Raiden at the edge of their will, and OMW coach Kevin Nash also being there at his mental last rope. The berserking 'Blacked' Date stops rampaging around when Dante asks for collection, letting out a scream and summoning the other one attacking the place: Blacked Chopper, an "old friend" of Dante. For their sake, they must be taken down.

With one last Dragon Bomb, Date is done for and the Chopper crashes. Date's blackness washes away, and the time for karaoke draws near. But then, as they discover too late, the Black Knight was actually unnoticed within the Chopper thanks to his concealment ability. The Black Knight, who despite his armored appearance was still a formless mass of power lacking a solid foundation, found the perfect container in Kevin Nash―the perfect victim of blacked and blackening-and enters his being before vanishing away.

Episode 7[edit | edit source]

Kiryu stays behind to help the victims of OMW while Dante rushes off to tell Chris' squad of the unfathomable power they just witnessed from Nash's fusion.

After defeating Super Blacked Nash Super Blacked and seeing it still rise and rig Coolsville Hills to explode, Leon..........'s friend Ark Thompson finds out the way to the rooftop, even though Tatsuya feels the situation hopeless, they rush out and still come with no way out. Just at the end of the line, when Tatsuya thought he was never going to find what was missing, that feeling in his heart, and why was he even here... all of their friends arrived in a helicopter!

Date: Guess who's back?

Therapist: You held out pretty well so far, guys!

Kiryu: Let's get out of here!

Agent 47: Yeah, hurry up! The sooner I get away from Faggler, the better!

Battler: Then why are you sitting so close to me? Personal space, buddy! You were the one who agreed with this teamup in the first place.

Dante: Sure is a big help when a old rival joins your side. I would know, I'm inside one right now.

Chris: Climb that ladder and let's get out of here!

Everyone showed up to rescue them, but... he can't let their efforts be in vain. Without finishing Super Blacked Nash, he'll unleash an age of terror upon Coolsville. Tatsuya urges Ark to leave, as even if the explosion catches them, he'll protect everyone. Super Blacked Nash arrives at the rooftop, claiming he'll survive everything, every more, every threat! But Chris has a better idea, throwing Tats an RPG-7 (Tatsuya wondering where he even got it) and tells him to make him become regular Big Daddy Bitch again. In fear of what he knows it's coming, Super Blacked Nash even promises he won't post Rikishi's ass anymore, but for Tatsuya, it's the Black Knight's time to become extinguished, as he rushes to him and launches it directly into his asshole.

...with the mission over, there was only one thing left to do. Kiryu kills it at karaoke as everyone praises him, since it is a hobby of his after all. Ark however could't come up since his friend Leon S. Kennedy had given him a secret mission. Battler urges 47 to try next, but he seems pretty down, as the Maxino, the heckin' Maxy Paynerino wasn't found at all even though they combed the building on their way. Just then, 47 receives a call from... MAXERINOOOOOOOOOO who apparently had received a free vacation to Brazil from a trustworthy fellow if he just quietly left and told nobody. Tatsuya even heard they serve a special delicacy called "Sopa de Macaco" there, and Date's mouth waters at the idea of those big booty latinas! Max is actually on his way back and was calling 47 to pick him up, but since he's got some friends around won't disturb him. 47 now realizes the situation he's in and is surprised when hearing 'friends', but both Battler and Chris agree as they were in the same squad and worked so well together. Although Date couldn't make it this time, Dante hopes they can go on missions together another time (he's not splitting his pay though) and Date wonders if his mags will work...

Observing this whole situation, Tatsuya feels as if things aren't as off anymore, he could find his place before, his purpose, but after this, he feels like he can see the shape of the puzzle pieces more clearly, like having found a light in the darkness, and soon enough they'll start fitting, so he just wants to say... Thank you. Battler also hopes to find his way, and thinks that after that mission maybe he can go far one day. Kiryu looks forwards to the bright future of those two, and Dante even offers to put a good word with Nero, if only he can remember his name, which 47 gently does as "Shit-Stabbin', Fudge-Packin' Ushiromyass Faggler".

Date just heard back from Ooishi, and everyone is also invited to drinks and Mahjong later tonight, with Dante accepting to go if pizza is also on the table. Chris has one final thing to say... as he should be the one thanking them all. And since their time is almost up, it's time to blow up the house with one last round, all together.

One, two, three... Go!

TFR/Off-Season 9: Rokkenjimania V[edit | edit source]

Tonight is when history begins anew, how this company survives, and under whose leadership it will flourish, as Balthios James succinctly puts. CJ doesn't care as long as it isn't that "black man", while Balthios is more concerned about the white supremacist creep, deep-voiced dyke, or guy who looks like he has more HUV every time he sees him. But for CJ, it's gotta be Kiryu, as he's the only one with no criminal past, while Balthios thinks Steven knows what it takes to fight for respect in this industry and would give everyone their fair share, and more importantly would put an end to the rampant crime backstage with his mafia connections, and put and end to the Powers conspiracy! Although most think he would kill everyone involved in the plot, even if that's what it takes, so be it. Even Bevi, who cares only about protecting his 'friend', will vote for him if Balthios thinks he is best for putting order, even if his extermination of the conspiracy is a tad too extreme even for him. With all votes done, Kiryu shows up to announce it will have to go to tiebreakers...

Back again to this damn city... no matter how many times it's left behind... just like the time he was trying to build a new life with Kasai-san in Okinawa, now mere scattered memories around this place. Kiryu is caught by a scout, and taken into a hostess club, Club Domino. Noticing the city looking strange, Kiryu wonders if anything could be going on, at first suspecting Yakuza involvement, the Hostess explains that they had partnered up with NXT's recruitment system, but now they're afraid The Cagist will start working for Darkiplier's animatronic army. Kiryu can't believe it... he always thought his old friend would avoid such a fate, to think his company would fall to such an insane evil plot after all the passion he put into it, how could things turn so bad so fast? Whatever he came back to, he needs to do something about it.

Triple H really went down a path Kiryu never even thought possible... to be driven by such dark forces... to sell his soul just because he thought he was "too weak"! Just what happened to him? But HHH has a different story: Power, that's all that matters, all that keeps people from having an ideal world, and those who aren't powerful enough... have nothing to do. It's not about control or submission; it's about peace, HHH just wants to find his own peace. But Kiryu reminds him Power isn't the only thing that matters; there's also Money. But... no money in the world could have saved him from his fate. And yet... Kiryu is here to stop Triple H-No, Cagist. But there's no going back, Kiryu can join them or perish, because the man he once knew no longer exists... all that's left is Triple Hate!!!

The world suddenly changes around Steve, as he notices he's back in TFR instantaneously and meets the legend 'the man' Kiryu Kazuma in the locker room. A dangerous foe lurks near and he enlists Steve's help, but Steve is still sick about what happened and wants to quietly die in a corner, or instead asks for some potions or at least coal or wood, but Kiryu laments they have nothing as they didn't take a quest to the Nether due to how frustrating it is to be so close to the MSPA universe, but tells him once they eliminate the intruders causing all the cosmic radiation, it should all get better.

Kiryu arrives at AEW to put an end to their dark deal. Amakusa appears before him, commenting on the shame about the sad fate that awaits his friend The Cagist as he makes his way to Darkiplier's castle on a tank. Kiryu wonders how he can find any of it acceptable, but Amakusa believes Darkiplier to be a figure far greater than anyone here; his ambitions trascend anything humanly conceivable. Kiryu can't believe he's in front of a man that would cheer on the death of men fighting for their dreams and calls Darkiplier a simple tyrant with no moral compass, while Amakusa wonders how he can dare to speak ill while considering such petty a thing as a "moral code", and while Kiryu suggets this is a battle of ideals, it's not one between good and evil anymore, but one between those who see the bigger picture and those stuck in the much, as only those with open minds can understand inferior beings can only appreciate the greatness of their leader from afar. But enough talk, it's time to show what his true strength is about, the power bestowed that is testament to the glory of a superior being...! With a lightning strike, Amakusa turns into... Cocaine Bear.

TFR/Season 8[edit | edit source]

Following his father's footsteps, Kiryu had wanted to offer children who had nothing else the same place to fit in the Sonozaki family had offered, and opened his own orphanage in Honolulu, Sindria, to continue the work which the last one left off. One of the kids who grew up there, Jackson, didn't have any path in life, so Kiryu became his legal guardian.

To finance it, he continues his job as the Dragon of Kojima, working as an actor at Kojima Productions.

Episode 4[edit | edit source]

...Kojima explains the scene all over again. "Coror brue represent wisdomu and serenity. It mean his soul ascend to higher prane of existence. That he trury become Dragon among human!". There's a reason he invented the 'camera'―when they reshoot, The Final Impact will look better from the other angle! Kiryu finally truly understands the scene, but wonders about the "Social Scream System" he mentioned earlier, to which Kojima replies he'll explain how he came up with the concept of 'scream' another time. Kiryu begins thinking about the kids, even thought it's only been a few days since last seeing them, being the Dragon of Kojima is tough work.

While spacing out, he receives a call from his friend Date Kaname. He calls because of his legal dependent, Jackson... since he's been taken under custody. Shocked at the news, Kiryu informs Kojima he needs to rush to the Detention Center for family issues, luckily Kojima invented something just for cases like this―"Paido Reave". Just then, he has a new idea for a script, Prototypes...

"An arson at Sneed's, the former Eden of Coolsville. At the scene of the crime, a suspect, identified as 'Jackson Kiryu,' was apprehended by Detective Manny Pardo of the Coolsville Police Department. Jackson attempted to flee the scene while carrying a stove but was successfully intercepted and arrested by Detective Pardo." He'll need to ask Date for more details. Bur Kiryu knows that in the end, he's the one to blame; back in Honolulu, Sindria, most kids were having a great time in the orphanage... but not Jackson. Kiryu tried to make him crawl out of his shell, tried talking to him and spoiling him slightly more, but the message never got through―no connection was made, and as a paternal figure, he failed. But when he said his dream was wrestling, he was happy, even if leaving to Coolsville alone to pursue his dreams was dangerous... he should've worried more, and maybe thinks wouldn't have turn out this way.

Once again, Kiryu returns... to that damn city.

Kiryu arrives to the detention center, where Date is waiting. Unfortunately, most of what the media is saying is true, but something that makes things worse just surfaced. Date shows Kiryu KAngel's video... things are pretty bad, so Date wants Kiryu to talk to Jackson right away, but... Kiryu refuses. As his legal guardian he already screwed his present, and now the past is gonna destroy his future, he has no right to see him. About the actual case, Date finds it quite suspicious that Chinman was just so carrying a stove there―the arson charge may be definitive, but he doesn't have a motive and refuses to talk, and besides something just doesn't sit right with Date, so as Kiryu's friend he'll dig as deep as he can. As Kiryu is looking quite demotivated, Ooishi arrives calling Date for 'talking to dangerous criminals', but Date says the joke is in bad taste at the moment. Suddenly, Kiryu gets up and tells Date that there's nothing he can or should be doing, and ignoring Date's pleas, walks away while telling his friend not to stick his nose into this.

Episode 5

Does Kiryu really think that's that's the answer? Abandoning everyone and wasting away at Survive Bar? Doesn't he want a better future for himself, for the kids? He may be just a bartender, but he can say one thing: Even if you can't change everything, even if you can't control your past... you can still defy your destiny. Luckily, seems like Kiryu won't have to drink alone anymore.

Our of nowhere, Kasai Tatsuyoshi enters the bar. It's a long story why he's here, but he heard the news, Kiryu begins lamenting about the shadows of the past finally catching up for doing the wrong things, but Kasai paints a different story: He might not be the most knowledgeable about these things, but a video like that takes time, and coming upon all the stuff in the video just a few hours after arson?―it can't be coincidence.

Just as it dawns on Kiryu, the sound of a car violently stopping resounds outside the bar. Kasai guesses it must be the Yamai Syndicate catching up with him, since he's been keeping them away from the rest of the family. Yamai Yutaka enters the bar and playfully taunts Kasai about his hiding away, before noticing the legendary dragon himself is there. As the most famous criminal on Coolsville right now, his head must be worth a ton, so Yamai calls his henchman Sasame Ojiro to take care of them, as Kiryu and Kasai prepare to fight together on Steven's name.

It really was the Dragon of Kojima after all... Yamai noticed his useless henchman unable to fight anymore and disengaged, but he never thought he'd see him with his own two eyes. Before leaving, Kiryu demands to know what his business with the Sonozakis is, but Yamai thinks that would be... boring, in fact he's already bored of this place, and leaves until their next meeting. As Kasai curses that damn asshole, he urges on Kiryu to go check the others together since they've hid in the family restaurants; Kiryu doubts if he should involve with them with the current situation, but he owes an eternal debt to Steven and the Sonozaki, and Kasai is happy to have him back.

Episode 6[edit | edit source]

Kasai knocks on the backdoor of the Angel Mort, and a Sonozaki mook opens the door–safer to not be seen by customers, he says. Inside, Akane, Mion, Shion, and Leo all greet Kiryu after so long. Kiryu didn't initially know the Sonozaki Family operated Angel Mort, but he's heard much about the place from the orphanage kids, and Shion intersects that it's all thanks to her genius: she worked part-time on the first Angel Mort operated by her uncle, and after 'spicing it up' with the uniforms and Leo's idea for the menu, it became such a huge success that all their uncles and distant relatives wanted to run a joint! Mion grunts that she helped too, and Leo was surprised at being able to come up with a dessert menu since his specialty was mixing drinks. Kiryu says Steven would be proud for them to find such an ingenious way for legitimate Yakuza business, but Akane's mood changes drastically... the reason they are on the run is because many of the subsidiary families joined due to the late Steven's unmatched strength and charisma, and are not pleased with the civil direction of the family instead of fighting in the turf war against Mafia City, and have not accepted Mion and Shion even with Akane teaching them. Such groups have banded together under the Sumadera Family and diverted away. Because of an assassination attempt on Akane which forces her to be carried by Leo, Mion blames themselves for not keeping them in a tighter leash, and Shion should've never trusted that bitch Kyrie... Kiryu can hardly believe someone who has helped the family for so long would do this. But Akane believes they can tough it out as long as they have the Ceremonial Handbell used to declare the next head of the family, for their lack of unity will make them claw each other's throats to take power, as succession won't be acknowledged otherwise. All of these things happening, Kiryu blames himself for all of them, from leaving the family before making sure they could succeed safely, to throwing the weight of declaring them the next heads on such young shoulders, Kiryu blames his lack of responsibility, but Mion, Shion and Akane protest that he's being foolish and speaking nonsense while being too hard on himself.

Suddenly, it seems the customers are making too much of a ruckus when Shion realizes they aren't really customers. The yakuza guarding the door staps Kiryu in the name of the Matou Family, shocking Akane as they were supposedly disbanded long ago. As Kiryu reminisces about Kariya, a strangely familiar yet unknown voices says the Matou Family were forcefully disbanded and distributed across other families, but never forgot their hatred for the Dragon of Kojima. Akane is shocked when that man appears, and after him comes another ghost, Hayashi Hiroshi appears to tell Kiryu how good a job Kieran's been doing, since it's his brother's kid after all. The man that shared Kiryu's Way of the Virgin having a secret son is beyond shocking to Kiryu, with Kieran telling him his 10 years in the joint must've gotten him senile unless his father really didn't tell him, but either way, he's here to make the Sonozaki Family respected again. Kasai orders Leo to protect the family while he supports Kiryu, who steels himself to face Kariya's son since it's what Steven would do.

Even with all his years of hardwork, Hayashi and Kieran fall while stating this isn't the end. After escaping to the next safehouse, Akane tells Kiryu that the Sonozaki Estate has fallen too and they've taken it as stronghold, Kiryu cursing their lack of honor. Almost everyone decides to rest for the time being, and Akane walks up to the restless Kiryu despite her injuries, since she's the widow of Steven Sonozaki after all. Kiryu's reunion with Kariya was shortlived after his 10 years, so he probably doesn't know, but his restless effort to climb the Sonozaki ranks led him to marry the daughter of the Sumadera patriarch, Sumadera Kasumi—a calculated, strategic arranged marriage. Unexpectedly, the Sumadera patriarch was found hanged in his room, so the role was passed to his eldest daughter, Kyrie, and Kasumi & her future son were banished. When they lost sight of them, Akane figured the civilian life would be good for them, but for Kieran to join the yakuza again... Kiryu never knew, after he lost Kariya and her, he just tried to forget...

Kariya: ...It's been ten years since I've drank with you.

Kazuma: Yeah.

Kariya: Visitation didn't fit into my schedule.

I've been pretty busy, you know.

Kazuma: I'm sure...

Akane tells Kiryu to stop blaming everything on himself and rest. But he knows there's only one way I can make things right, and when everyone's asleep, apologizes and leaves ...this is the problem he created, after all.

Episode 7[edit | edit source]

At the entrance of the Sonozaki Estate, the unsuspecting guard is taken out with a single punch, prompting the other one to run off upon noticing it's the Dragon of Kojima himself. Within the grounds, the place is nothing but crawling with the henchmen of the occupant families... "if you want to die, come at me", Kiryu shouts. Inside the house, Yamai complains how cold it is, but at least while he's helping those Sumadera punks, Kyrie promised they wouldn't hurt Akane again following the assassination attempt. Yamai yells at Sasame to bring him one of his heaters, but he kicked through the door before he can leave―The Dragon arrived. No number of troops could keep him from seeing this through, for the sake of the Sonozaki Family who are in pain because of him... funny, Yamai was just thinking about Akane and how ever since Steven kicked the bucket she must've been so lonely with that failure Kasai who couldn't even protect her. At that moment, Kiryu lits up and tells him to never mention those names again, and Yamai can't wait to taste the fire in his eyes.

It was as if he was breathing fire... but not enough to warm Yamai up. With that, Yamai's glad that the Sumadera's stand no chance and Akane will be safe. That useless idiot Sasame didn't even bring the heater and is still getting up, so Yamai kicks him up for them to leave. Before leaving, Yamai tells Kiryu he can't expect them to be friends if they meet again, and if he messes this up... he'll take his head as payback. Kiryu never expected that in the first place, and doesn't even have the right to mess up anymore.

In the side room, Hayashi and Kieran lie in wait. All that Kieran went through... not only to grow without a father, but banished from his own family along his mother... no friends to stand by him... everything he did was work hard just to survive, but what really kept him going was the hatred for the person that caused it all, Kiryu Kazuma! Kiryu himself is well aware of his sins, but he won't use his past to fuel revenge, instead this is atonement, and it's because of that atonement he will hurt the son of his sworn brother to teach him a lesson. Before he's finished, Hayashi laughs at the same babble he says Kiryu's been spouting all his life, and Kieran rejects taking anything from Kiryu... but his blood.

As Kieran and Hayashi lay defeated, Kiryu hopes Kieran's realized by now his happy ending doesn't follow this path, but he'll just become a man that only knows evil like the one next to him. Struggling to sit up, Kieran shouts that he knows nothing about him, but Kiryu says he deserves a better ending, and his father would think the same.

The main room... in there lays Rudolf, who's happy to see Kiryu's still the real deal. They joined the family so long ago and he's still as strong, so Rudolf has to keep up. Still, this clan, to think it couldn't defeat him even with strength in numbers... sometimes a man's gotta settle things himself. Both got the same goal, to clean the scum in this place... Kiryu tells wants to see what's he got.

Just like something Rudolf'd see in a movie, a one man army... Kiryu never changes, but that's why up ahead lays his downfall. After such a fight, Kiryu tells him he didn't miss a step either, but there was simply no way Kiryu himself would go down before reaching the end, and if his ruin lays ahead... there's nothing to do but face it.

He steps in the boss' room where calmly behind the table sits Kyrie. She praises him, taking down all those men one by one, but it's all for nothing as he's not leaving this place alive. Not when the fate of this family hangs in the balance... it was about time they got the respect they deserved, and money and power that comes with it, so he'll be dying for a good cause after all. When Kiryu says that he's not dying here, Kyrie produces a wicked smile, as it's a good thing her husband is not here... because she can be as brutal as she wants.

No matter what she throws at him, Kiryu endures it all. Ignoring the viciousness of all her moves, he makes no move against her and continues to stand up. Even as she screams for him to die and breaks his body, Kiryu says his will won't ever fall. Out of nowhere, police sirens fill the place. As Date jumps in and attempts to get Kyrie, she calls for Rudolf, who quickly leaps into the room and blows Date away, allowing both to get away. Ooishi helps Date up, and at least he can say he's happy they got to take a good chunk of their henchmen... arresting people never felt so good! As Date notices the state of Kiryu, he collapses, Date hurrying up to assist him. But, Ooishi tells him that's enough... and to put the cuffs on him already, even if he's his friend, they're here to uphold the law. This place is really too tragic for Ooishi... Sonozakis can't even install proper cooling...

Episode 9[edit | edit source]

A man lies on a bed in jail, shadow of defeat etched across his features; that man was Kiryu Kazuma. His lips curve into a wry smile, muttering of at least not being in the same ward as him, a fleeting moment of relief. The distant echo of a metal door and rapid approach of boot steps towards his holding cell is unmistakable. Date Kaname berates him, they just so happened to be investigating the Sonozaki turmoil when they heard the brawl start out. He dreads to think what would have happened if they were any later, and was beside himself with worry when Kiryu wouldn't wake up for days. He asks him why he took them on alone, Kiryu pulling out that he was just pissed off, but Date tells him to cut the bullshit. Instead, Kiryu just warns him to not get involved, because he doesn't want to make the same mistake again; all of this is on him, he had a chance to stop the Sonozaki family turmoil, but was selfish instead, even involving Steven's precious daughters, a grave mistake when they were too young and inexperienced. Even if Date says no one could've foreseen this, allowing the Matou clan, who returned to punish him solely, to harm those around him, is unforgivable for Kiryu. Taken aback, Date can't believe the Matou Family is back (again), but Kiryu indeed confirms they aren't mere shadows of the past anymore but vengeful spirits of the present... Date musters it in him to ask Kiryu if he's still haunted by what happened to Stingray... but Kiryu could never forget... the only woman he ever loved... if only he hadn't been so careless. If he remembers everything they've been through, Date tells him taking on the world alone isn't the answer; they're supposed to carry this burden together. Kiryu is caught in the clutches of the past:

It all began with Matou Kariya, whose ambitions led the Matou family to the doorstep of the Sonozaki family, seeking power through unity, yet hiding his claw in treachery. The Secretary of State secretly running the keyboard smuggling ring, Sudou Tatsuzou, forged an alliance with Kariya seeking to dethrone the Sonozaki patriarch. The keyboards that flooded the streets threatened the existence of Yakuza itself. Disregarding this, the remnants of this once venerable family, rallied under Kariya's flag, ignited an insurrection. Yet, the plan was thwarted by Jill Stingray, Kiryu and Kariya's childhood friend from the same orphanage. She possessed the key that threatened the entire operation, enabling the Sonozaki family to strike back. The conflict reached its zenith atop Bogdanoff Tower, Coolsville's crown jewel. Kiryu triumphed over the treacherous duo with his own hands. Yet Sudou, having completely lost his dignity, unleashed the accursed power of keyboards in a desperate attack on Kiryu, Jill Stingray sacrificed her life to save her beloved, prompting Kariya's redemption who dismantled the keyboard smuggling ring in a cleansing fire.

Yet the tapestry of fate was far from complete. The Soprano Family, from the distant land of Japan, cast their gaze upon the Sonozaki family. Kiryu, as an emissary, traveled to Japan to mend their relations, where he encountered the underboss of the Soprano family, Joey "Il Drago" LaRocca, a man whose ambitions mirrored his own, determined to be the sole "Dragon" left. Amidst the backdrop of this burgeoning war, Kiryu met Jill Valentine, a formidable detective who bore the same name as his late love, and captured his heart with her spirit and resolve. Just as Kiryu made amends with the Soprano boss, Joey overthrew the power within his family. The dormant specter of the Matou family reawakened, and the man believed to be long dead... Matou Zouken, a figure whose thirst for vengeance transcended mortality, rallied the Matou under his banner, reigniting the flames of war. Before Kiryu even joined the Sonozaki family, the demise of the Matou family was orchestrated by the hands of Sonozaki Oryou, the clan's matriarch, a figure of unparalleled cunning and ruthlessness. Under her directive, young lieutenants Steven and Shimano laid siege to the Matou stronghold. It was a massacre, heralding the Sonozaki dominance, a declaration written in blood. Amidst the carnage, Matou Zouken, whispered vows of retribution, his life extended beyond nature's intent by sheer will and spite. The vendetta found new life unexpectedly, as Joey "Il Drago" Larocca unveiled Zouken as his dark patron. The city of Coolsville, barely recovered, was plunged into chaos once more, and Bogdanoff Tower ablaze yet again. In this labyrinth of deceit, as fanatical members of the Matou family infiltrated not just both the Sonozaki and Soprano families for years but even the desolate roster of NXT, Kiryu stood firm, with Jill Valentine by his side. The climactic battle atop Coolsville Hills, the new hope of Coolsville still under the construction, saw Kiryu defeating the combined Matou and Soprano forces. He learned the terrible truth: both Valentine and LaRocca were unwitting pawns of Zouken's game of vengeance. Shaken to the core, Kiryu nevertheless marched onwards, defeating Zouken alongside Jill Valentine, and then inviting Joey to a decisive duel atop the world, a testament to their resolve and the fate of Coolsville and its citizens. Yet Zouken revealed himself once again, attacking both Kiryu and Joey with offscreen keyboards. Joey, with his last strength, chokeslammed the demented old worm off the top of the tower to his final demise. Kiryu and Joey resumed their fierce battle for the title of the true dragon. Emerging victorious, Kiryu acknowledged Joey as a formidable and honorable foe, letting Jill tell goodbye to her dying brother. Yet, they were still in grave danger as the Matou family had rigged the building to explode. As Joey lay dying, Kiryu and Jill Valentine embraced each other atop his lifeless body, making out as an unfitting J-Pop song started blasting. And at that moment, Date swooped in with his helicopter, saving both of them at the last second.

So, Date asks him if he understands, and Kiryu remembers it all too well, but Steven left them with a legacy beyond just fighting, a direction Mion and Shion were trying to steer into, but the darkness they left behind was the same that was threatening them. But, making enemies left and right, Date questions if putting himself in the middle during a war is the right idea, even if he claims to be doing it to protect those two kids, Date asks if he thinks Jackson and the orphanage children would agree, how would they feel if he was dead and left them alone. Kiryu is left speechless, but before either him or Date can say something, an officer tells Date that important men have arrived and the higher ups want him to clear the premises. As Date is escorted out, he yells that he talked to Akane and Kasai, and apart from calling him bonehead, they told him to remember he's not alone.

The man's expression momentarily softens, a mix of gratitude and renewed resolve lighting his features. The silence of the jail becomes suffocating, with thoughts becoming a whirlwind of guilt, duty, and specter of futures uncertain. Suddenly, the monotony is broken by slow, deliberate footsteps. A figure in an expensive black suit, sunglasses masking his eyes, approaches, an air of cold authority surrounding him. The figure recites Kiryu's life: "The Dragon of Kojima." joined the Sonozaki at age 20, quickly forging a legend. Even his sworn brother, Kariya, turned against him, causing the death of his true love. Left to care for the late Jill's son, he left the yakuza and founded an orphanage, much like his father figure Kasai. Yet, the past always caught up with him, a tragic way to live. The man comes with a proposal, about the misfortune that befell Jackson thanks to the media circus, they can clear his name. Kiryu says he's gravely mistaken if he thinks he can manipulate him by daring to use Jackson's life as bargaining chip, but the mysterious man offers a retract of the media stories and public erasure of their connection. What he asks in turn, is Kiryu's cooperation. As a last word, he reminds him he's not just fighting for Jackson now, but for a chance to right the wrongs and cleanse the legacy he's so keen on protecting... after a long silence, Kiryu asks what's needed of him.

Episode 11

After accepting, he's transferred from the CPD jail to an unknown location, with higher ups actively blocking any way for Date to keep tabs on him.
