A training gym for boxers run by Kamogawa Genji.

Has a higher rate of brain-injury than other gyms for currently unknown reasons.

History[edit | edit source]

Founded 20 years ago, Kamogawa's Gym produced a few champions in its heyday.

TFR/Season 7[edit | edit source]

After spending several years without a boxer of worth, Makunouchi Ippo showed up and began being trained by Kamogawa.

However, due to terribly luck in his match ups, he lost every one of his matches, and as if that wasn't bad enough, Eren Yeager ability left him with oxygen poisoning where his oxygen stock progressively got depleted until he couldn't fight in matches anymore.

TFR/Season 8[edit | edit source]

Due to "medical experts" advising against letting boxers taking so many headshots, the gym's output sharply fell down along with their members and popularity, and Kamogawa never trusted regular medics ever again. The Gym quickly fell into hard times and, unfortunately, also into the debt of Mafia City, who would hound Kamogawa for money every few weeks. Being scouted after defeating Ippo, Susuhara Suzumu ended joining to maintain his training (and to repay for beating Ippo). Even after having learned everything he could from Kamogawa, Susuhara continues utilizing the gym and donates part of his wrestler salary to keep it afloat.

One day while driving through the countryside, Kamogawa found a man in a bad crash, and took him to the gym before calling a trustworthy doctor he knew to get him fixed up. The amnesiac man introduced himself as Zach, and since Kamogawa noticed he had the correct 'spirit' in him, in turn for helping him get healthy and in form, asked to let him be trained and do a bit of boxing for his gym.

Since Zach has that 'spirit' in him and Ippo is still out of commission, Kamogawa has him squaring off against their number two, Susuhara Suzumu, and Zach shows great potential.

During one of their trainings, V kicked down the door as he entered demanding their money and punched Kamogawa, but decided to let him off since he got a new trainee.

After their brawl in a bar with Mafia City goons, Zach, Manny Pardo, and Charles rendezvous at the gym, where Kamogawa takes a good look at Charles and notices he could make a hell of a boxer, and wonders if he'd be up to learn the 「Motionless Corkscrew Coconut 8th Dimension Diagonal Dempsey Roll」, but Pardo interrupts with news about a recent murder and they all leave.

It's a shame Charles wasn't there when Zach and Pardo met the caporegime, but Richter is still committed to be their agent on the inside, and leaves to his duty. The doorbell rings, and Kamogawa hurriedly opens the door to the three recruits that'll apparently be joining the gym. But... York and Charles recognize that man, Sneed's friend whom they tried to buy coffee seeds before, but Chuck denies knowing what they are talking about. Just before Kamogawa signs their contract, Susuhara notices in the fine print: it's a scam! Had he signed, he'd be giving away the rights to the property—BONK—Susuhara is incapacitated, and with the facade revealed, Chuck orders his hired muscle to get that paper signed with blood. Kamogawa is proud they managed to defend the Gym. From outside, Cum Bucket chanced upon Chuck and saw him entering a boxing gym. Upon hearing how worried he was about his friend being involved with wrestling now that the city is anything but safe, Chuck regrets his actions. To thank Zach, he gives something long-promised, a memento of the recent past: [Coffee Seeds].

While drinking his premium coffee sneeds and thinking about the current standing of things, Zach receives an urgent call from Charles: Mafia City got Richter. He's in one of their warehouses, one Charles himself had bought, obviously expecting them to come. They decide to rendezvous in there for their biggest challenge yet.

On his way back to the Docks, Zach passes by the gym, which Kamogawa berates unless he needs some emergency sparring, but Zach declines.

Agent 47 arrives to the gym to check it out, finding only Susuhara since Kamogawa is out running errands, so he decides to give him a "test spar" (to hook him in) and even puts his full armor to "make things easier". After being defeated by "Fight Knight", Kamogawa called back and rushed back to the gym upon hearing they had a new member, ordering Susuhara to buy some drinks. Zach and Pardo also return from their corageous endeavor (Charles and Richter split for safety concerns), so Kamogawa decides to throw a little party once 47's done signing the paper. With the new sign-in and Tony setting shop outside, Kamogawa is convinced things will begin booming soon and getting lively. After the light-hearted talk and drinking, Pardo leaves before getting tipsy to take care of "business", and Zach decides to take a well-deserved sleep as Kamogawa is ready to see him train and Susuhara gets his hopes up for their rematch.

3 months later, Charles and Richter are waiting in the gym while Kamogawa and Susuhara continue training 47, when, unexpectedly, Zach returns after being reassigned, having taken "vacation time" for it. Even more unexpectedly, Tony enters the gym and beckons the three allies to go meet his "boss" from the "Italian Mafia", and they oblige. Just in case they need help, Kamogawa gets 47 to tail them.
