Already Confirmed[edit | edit source]

The one who (often erroneously) confirms. A pathetic being.

A man endlessly tortured by Masuda Junichi after committing a sin against Pokémon. Bugs always follow him wherever he goes.

TFR/Season 0[edit | edit source]

"The level of detail on the Superstar models in the new WWE 2K22 asset drop in the PR is unreal
You can see Adam Cole's atoms...that's insane
"

Merrick is one of the Pokémon available in Coolsville. He was probably trapped inside the Pokeball by Masuda himself.

Episode 10

He is one of Red's Pokémon, her starter given to her by Koshimizu Hayao after she chose him for being exactly as pathetic as Tre. As his first challenge, he was put into NXT's King of /v/ Championship as /vp/.

Non-Canon
With her victory at the King of /v/ tournament, Red was finally able to completely crush Tre's delusional dreams, and find the cure to gayness. Within nine months, a heir to her bloodline had been born, as she sucked him dry day and night. Walter was persecuted by the government and posteriorly executed, and thanks to Koshimizu the fertility rate of Coolsville AND Japan skyrocketed. It is speculated her child count is now in the double digits.

Episode 13

Escapes his pokeball only to find an ally of Masuda-sama, and tries to show himself stronger. Sadly, Mario spends the entire match dominating him and leaves him weak enough for the buggerus to start crawling their way back to him.

Episode 14

Released (or discarded) by Red.

TFR/Off-Season 8[edit | edit source]

Episode 7

Wins the rumble to challenge his archnemesis again.

Episode 8[edit | edit source]

Wins but a faulty camera and Pegasus shenanigans cause a rematch where he lost. Merrick is obviously still the moral victor.

The Extinct Light[edit | edit source]

Finally... his enemy who cheated him, Pegasus, is nowhere to be seen, and after being rigorously and ruthlessly trained by Masuda-sama previously, he joins the fray back at Amakusa Elite Wrestling to become the top pokemon informant in the ring as well.

TFR/Season 8[edit | edit source]

With having obtained the recognition he deserves and restoring the dignity of GF, Joe now sets his aims higher...

Episode 1

Picking up a fight with the newly-received 'supermercenary', Joe tries to count him out to avoid his offensive only for HUNK to drag him back in and pummel him into submission.

Episode 5[edit | edit source]

Merrick teams with a mysterious partner, Tim, since they can both agree on the level of complexness in pokemon being mind-blowing.

Their enemies failed to understand that, and so lost their titles.

Episode 6[edit | edit source]

Depiction of events may be unrealiably exaggerated

Then Merrick and Tim lost their titles in AEW Rampage.

A backstage incident muddled in rumor and uncertainty quickly spreads itself from the AEW locker room:

After his press conference, as soon as HUNK gets back to his locker room—BOOM—his door gets kicked down by Chaud, Steve Burnside, and Joe Merrick with a superkick. Supposedly, HUNK's dog, Tofu, got injured. It's said Chaud took the dog with him to Amakusa. Ghost takes a Canadian Destroyer into a corner that puts him out. Chaud comes back from Amakusa's room, and they gang up on them, so VECTOR had to bust out the Death Jitsu style that he learned from HUNK and also a few select "Japanese masters", and also bites Steve's arm. HUNK broke his arm smashing Merrick's face, and the security guards arrive and drag everyone away.

Episode 8

Merrick seeks the revived hero Saihara backstage and asks him for a minute.

M. Saihara
...Huh?

He's nervous to even approach him, even more at a time like this, but truth is he'll be fighting for the AEW Minigames Championship, and he's never won a title before, but Steve has, Chaud has, and Peppino is on the fastlane to. He had a great mentor in Mr. Masuda but he feels his wrestling has stagnated, and hopes for an opinion of the likes of the greats. Even if he knows, that they're hairless apes made of space dust living in a spinning ball, and that everything is irrelevant and nothing matters anyway, he still feels in his heart there's a lot he could improve upon to become a BANGER machine, maybe even specializing in a match type like becoming the King of Minigames? With these pleas, he asks Mr. Saihara what he thinks, if he could really make it.

M. Saihara
Um... Yeah? Uh, maybe?

...if...if Saihara believes in him so much, then he has to as well. He'll make him proud! Joe Merrick won't fall behind his fellow pillars! He'll carry AEW to a new era! And maybe, just maybe, one day... he'll become as legendary as the man who believed in him. With newfound resolution, Merrick marches on proclaiming the teachings he just received won't go to waste.

M. Saihara
...Okay...

Chaud, Burnside and Merrick begin preparing for the Minigame Tournament. Chaud is glad they came up with the idea even if it pisses off some old men who bring nothing but toxicity to the place, Merrick agrees that making a title you win by making games will show them, and Burnside even said he was sowey when he saw the old man's dog got hurt. Either way, Chaud argues AEW needs them as its pillars, and to prove it they're gonna cap off the tournament with the most hardcore, deadly, violent, mind-blowing match on AEW to date: an exploding barbed wire death match! Before getting started, the wonder if ZOOM is around, but the "cold-hearted handsome devil" has silently been there the entire time, which ensures he's 100% focused. Despite Peppino's absence since he's already booked (insider term), Chaud gets ready to load into the game and Burnside announces LET'S FAWKING GAW!!!!!

As predicted, ZOOM proved himself a minigame demon by scoring 13 wins without breaking a sweat, and the real fight was for second place. With fierce competition, Chaud gathered 7 points, and Burnside & Merrick are left behind with 6 and 5 respectively. In a very bloody and explosive match for becoming the King of Minigames, ZOOM once proves again his lethality and becomes the first Minigame Champion.

Episode 9.1

Attends a party with some crazy ninja dudes and gets high, but his fellow pillars thinks he's been kidnapped, so they try calling him.

HELLO? DO YOU THERE I SAID DOCTOR CALL OR NO DOCTOR CALL WHO DIS?

They figure they didn't kidnap him... they kidnapped him and forcefed him drugs...
