A character from Fate/stay night.

GAR[edit | edit source]

In another timeline to Fate/stay night, during the Fifth Holy Grail War, Emiya Shirou didn't manage to save Saber's heart. After the war, he headed to London along with Rin Tohsaka to work as a Magus in his dream to become a Hero of Justice. His dream was to save mankind, but he fell into depression when he learned his abilities were insufficient to do so. He fought many battles but his abilities were insufficient to win most of them, and learned of the Counter Force of earth.

When faced to a situation he couldn't overcome with the lives of many people on the line, he made a contract with Alayashiki (The collective unconsciousness of the world) to become a Miracle hero and become an Heroic Spirit after death, believing he could not only save the lives of the present, but the lives of the future as a Servant. Although he fought to end the war, he was branded as it's instigator and swiftly executed.

As a Counter Guardian, The World gave him the mission to slaughter all humans at a particular location when mankind is at the threshold of complete self destruction. This was the opposite of what he wanted, which was to "save everyone". After having to oppose the very ideal why he turned into a Counter Guardian, Archer desperately wanted to find a way to release himself from the Throne of Heroes, even knowing that it existed outside time and space, he deluded believed that if he summoned to an era before the contract and killed Shirou, the resulting time paradox of the vanquishing would erase him from existence.

He is also the most GAR character in all of existence.

TFR/Season 6[edit | edit source]

When the world was struck by The Rumbling, countless lives were lost, and as the years passed in the post-apocalyptic world, the meaning of being a "Hero of Justice" was progressively lost as well. Eventually, humanity forgot the name of the hero he once was, and as the world entered an impending-death state, with it's last throes managed to resume Archer's previous summoning and give it new life. From such corrupted material and world, Archer became "broken", losing his memories as well as his true name much like the world that forgot it, thus becoming Archer Alter, and wandering the desolate deserts for years without meaning.
