"Life is simply unfair, don't you think? There are moments when a single snail can make a world go extinct." ― Complex motives man

A character from Zero Time Dilemma.

Deep and Complex World[edit | edit source]

A mastermind who is seeking to change the ethics of the human race. Born as an ESPer, Delta has mastery of the mental arts. This allows him to read minds and even control people's actions through Mind Hacking. However, Mind Hacking leaves mental impressions on the user, making them able see the deepest, darkest desires of mankind. The overwhelming disgust Delta felt fueled a mission to cleanse humanity of its sins. To do this, he created a series of 'games' in order to test a select few people's moral compass.

Yet, Delta's motives might be more complex that even that, seeking to change the very course of history...

TFR/Season 2[edit | edit source]

The network, with a bit of effort, gets the answer in under 2 minutes, not too shabby eh? Raiden enters the truck and witness a strange machine... and Delta.

My name is not important. What is important is that my motives are complex.

You want to know? I find human decisions fascinating.

Just one small jobber. And everyone's lives... even the world... changed.

It's difficult to boil my actions down to one word.

To fulfill several objectives, I have been tirelessly working on this project.

Did you not pay attention? I already told you. My motives are very complex...

Everything that occured there helped fulfill my major goal.

Except beating up my dear sister.

Regardless, I have another power instead.

The power to Mind Hack.

Have I told you... That my motives are complex?

His motives are VERY complex.

Fred understands the situation and uses all of his power to command people to follow him, and everyone does to wherever Delta's safe place is.

Episode 5[edit | edit source]

Alright... And all I have to do is-
Complex voice
Precisely what I told you to do.
You mustn't forget a word.
...I won't forget it.
Complex voice
Tell me your name, young man.
...It's Tatsuya.
Complex voice
Your life is now irrevocably changed.
The decisions you make will no longer bear only on you.
What you do...
will create a world...

When Kadoya Tsukasa reveals his origin, he explains how it was Delta who offered him a last chance of saving the world by returning in time to stop Ushiromiya Battler and Agent 47's match.

Episode 7

When Second Carlos suddenly shows up at Resistance HQ, Central explains it was Delta who gave them the bomb shelter that they turned into their base of operations.

Episode 10[edit | edit source]

Scheming voice
...Humans really are crazy, huh?
Complex voice
I find their decisions fascinating.
Yet, the mind of the masses is just like a single bit of data.
Scheming voice
You mean, it can only ever be 0 or 1?
Complex voice
Indeed. Are you on the Kings' side, or on BANS'? Which side will they end up siding with?
Scheming voice
Oh, but there's a third side. Have you forgotten about your dear patrons?
Complex voice
Third side? There's no such thing. They just have yet to make their decision. And most certainly, they are all a very willful bunch.
Scheming voice
It's a shame that they had to suffer such a great hit.
The Three Kings sure can be terrifying, huh? Masquerading an entire company as a third party...
Complex voice
That they are. And their careful, long-term planning might just pay off soon.
Still, this is quite the spectacle to watch from afar.
Scheming voice
I'm considering entering the fray again soon enough.
Complex voice
Is your current influence not enough right now?
Scheming voice
Those are just my playthings, aren't they?
I'm just going to have some fun with them. After all, in the end, it doesn't even matter...
The people of this world are still struggling for dominance, unaware that it was already over way back when it all begun.

Episode 13[edit | edit source]

When Suou Tatsuya is about to get killed by The Circus, Delta shows up and saves him since it's not yet his time, and is a necessary part of his plan. He instead brings his perfect soldiers that even kings want to replicate them. He tells Tatsuya that he already knows his destination, and gives the clowns a final Decision Game.

Later, while discussing tactics with Narukami Yu, Delta explains that although everyone deserves a chance for their hopeful future, they can't keep losing any more people and anything necessary must be done. Thanks to Juzo, Narukami understands that an offensive approach is necessary. Delta concurs that lives should not be put under vanquishing despair, and details that The Three Kings are already well underway in taking over Coolsville, while the armies of Chaos have already made their way into the city. Narukami will personally conduct a search for Date Kaname's rescue while the resistance tries to retrieve the titles, and Rance leaves to protect the red-light district. Delta also tells that the approach for the tag-team belts is to wait until both are reunited in one place, as their attraction will bring them together in time...

Episode 17[edit | edit source]

Before Tatsuya goes on to face Mitake Toujirou, a complex voice tells him on his tracks to the heart of the Cosmic Egg, telling him that without his intervention, he'd have 0 chances of winning. He explains how Nyarlathotep's rumors have made humanity's dark wishes take form, such as Men With a Plan whose Oracle of LEON! would destroy humanity and how he gave the Holy Belt rumors form to accomplish his goals of destruction. Nyarlathotep's victory is assured, no matter what you do, no matter what you hit him with, no matter how hard you hit him, Nyarlathotep will not stay down for long. But the Summoning Key is more powerful than even him if humanity so desired him to become trapped in it. With a final wishing of good luck to Tatsuya, the complex one allows him onto his final match.

At the end of Tatsuya's struggle, having defeated and trapped the shadow of humanity, he wonders how to stop the birth of the cosmic end.

Life is unfair.

Delta shows up to explain: The key's power are used on trapping Nyarlathotep, and it cannot be stopped. It was all necessary to stop him from manipulating the dark hearts of humanity. Asking if it was all for nothing, Delta tells him to wait for everyone to get there.

When all of their friends gather, Delta explains. Even though the Key cannot stop the new universe, it will change it. The world will not go how the kings imagined it, little by little the domino effect will build up and soon enough, their plans will be overturned.

When Tatsuya angrily shouts how Delta knew any of this and didn't help sooner, he explains how his methods have always been complex. How he believed in his potential, how one of his main goals was to get him into the state of mind that would accomplish to save the new world, starting from scratch but preventing the tragedies that have destroyed innumerable histories, creating his ideal world of TFR. A happy ending.

Tatsuya angrily looks at him, for having played with them the entire time.

This egg is about to hatch. But first, I want to know one last thing.
Does all of that... Upset you? Are you... Angry that your life was played with?
Before this all ends... No, restarts... I am giving you... One last choice.

>Punch him

Gold star.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • His motives are complex.
  • He may have placed some snails in some roads.
  • He may have had to mindhack multiple wrestlers in several matches since Season 4 in order to get them off the goddamn ramp and stop forcing draws.
