Ax Battler
A playable character in Golden Axe.
Tragic Barbarian[edit | edit source]
Ax Battler was calmly returning home after a good hunt, thinking how happy his mother will be. After his father died when he was young, it was very important for him to make his mother happy. When he arrives at the entrance of the village, he finds no sign of life, only a heap of corpses. Unsettled with the sight, he rushes home to see if his mother is safe, but finds her lying in a pool of blood. He mourns her death and swears to avenge her. The barbarian later discovers that the forces of Death Adder, the descendant of the race of giants who once challenged the gods and had their power sealed into the Golden Axe, were responsible for the destruction of his hometown while headed to their target, Firewood Castle.
Six years pass after Death Adder destroys Firewood Kingdom. Death Adder's forces had been extending to the Southwood Kingdom, to the south of Firewood. The Southwood Castle was occupied, and the king and the princess had been imprisoned. Ax Battler, along with Tyris Flare and Gillius Thunderhead, would rise up against the forces of Death Adder. They defeated Death Adder and his secret master Death Bringer, retrieved the Golden Axe, and renewed peace across Yuria.
Three years since the fall of Death Adder, the imprisoned "Emperor of Darkness" Dark Guld breaks his seal and obtains the Golden Axe. The three heroes rise once again to face this new threat and restore peace.
His glorious deeds would be remembered many years into the future.
